Gay Days brings approximately 30,000 attendees to Disneyland each year.
The event has traditionally been held in October each year, but a shift to September has been in the works to reduce conflict with Halloween events taking place in the parks. In the past, this unofficial event has included specialty snack and merchandise items available for purchase around the park, as well as trivia, scavenger hunts, and more! Main Street, U.S.A. David Caton, executive director of Florida Family Association, told CP that members of his staff have been at Disney World during Gay Days for 18 of the 21 years that the event has occurred. Gay Days will officially take place at Disneyland from September 17th through 19th, 2021. About 15,000 gay attendees entered the Disney park on Saturday compared to the normal level of 30,000 children and their parents. Of course, last year Gay Days did not take place due to Disneyland’s extended closures. One of the most highly anticipated unofficial events each year is Gay Days, which since 1998 has celebrated LGBT pride in the parks.
Throughout the year, the Disneyland Resort hosts several official and unofficial events that range from fan gatherings to full-blown celebrations.
